A Visit to Tongli

Tongli is a water town about an hour out of Shanghai. The day we went out, it was 70s outside - 70s weather in the middle of February! Tongli is like an Asian Venice, with canals and boat rides, and the town is quaint and beautifully provincial.

Exploring the Town

John S considers his next move...

Much hubbalaboo is made over duck eggs - we have never seen these huge eggs before, so we all crowded around one, wondering how it would look like inside

Turned out it was just really hard-boiled egg...but the yolk part was a little weird =P

A Boat Ride down the Canals

After the boat ride...the exploration continues!

That's dried dog above the A/C...

A couple of guys picking up the trash from the canals; steps that lead out from a window

We created a story regarding those steps - because a person could sneak out the window, and she could have an illicit rendezvous with her boyfriend, who'd be waiting at the bottom of those steps in the canal - it's literally well-placed steps! =D
